Since 2013, which is since taking the Individual European Championship by the One Sport company, there is still one rider finishing always in the top. Of course, we're talking about the European Champion 2014 and 2015 - Emil Sayfutdinov.
Russian could've made the history in last year's September, if not his injury in 2013. Back then, Włókniarz Częstochowa's rider broke his hand at MotoArena and was forced to withdraw and say goodbye to his dreams on becoming the golden medalist in both world and European championship.
Next two seasons though, were purely incredible for the Eastern rider. Sayfutdinov was getting the most points and was the most effective rider of the whole cycle. Additionally, his racing was truly eye-catching (his tackle from Kumla ended in the TOP 5 actions of the season).
After reaching the second in a row golden medal in Ostrów Wielkopolski, his rivals made a pledge to defeat Russian. Who's got the biggest chances for doing so? Right now, we know five participants of next year's SEC. Next to Sayfutdinov, there will appear European Champ 2013, Martin Vaculik, Janusz Kołodziej, who finally wants to reach the SEC podium, Antonio Lindbaeck and triple world champion Nicki Pedersen.
Swede is right after his incredible season, but in the upcoming one, he'll start in the world's best league - PGE Ekstraliga and is ahead of fighting for the world championship. Will Lindbaeck hold the pressure and fight for dethroning Sayfutdinov? Or maybe, it'll be Nicki Pedersen, who was just an inch away from the golden medal for three times, but never could make that final stamp. Time will tell...
